Exploring our solar system

We study planetary atmospheres and lunar resources using terahertz measurements, radiative transfer models, data analysis, and machine learning. Our research connects instrument development with the interpretation of remote sensing observations.

  • Jupiter and its icy moons: Submillimeter-Wave Instrument (SWI) research for ESA's JUICE mission, studying atmospheres and physical properties to understand potentially habitable environments. Launched in April 2023.

Global Environmental Monitoring: Utilizing Earth Observation from space to understand global environmental changes, such as global warming and air pollution. We employ both measurement and advanced machine learning techniques to achieve these goals.

  • Greenhouse gas observation: GOSAT-GW - Next-generation satellite for CO₂, CH₄, and H₂O monitoring
